Focus On Imaging
Anyone reading the trade press magazines in the
run up to Focus will have seen Fujifilm's promise of 'something special' in store.
With its first time at Focus, the new Frontier 340 certainly created quite a stir. Described
as representing a major technological breakthrough for the digital minilab world, the 340 boasts an impressive processing capacity of 900 3R size prints per hour - achieved in an impressively compact package, with a footprint size of just 1.2m².
The demonstration model on the stand had
a constant stream of admirers - with labs in many different fields expressing an interest.
The Fujifilm stand also provided a showcase
for the new Fujifilm internet print service www.fdiprint.com which has been designed
to support photo retailers across the country.
The new service has been developed to maximise the profit opportunities available
to Fujifilm customers from the latest growth sector in digital processing services - online print ordering.
Darren Peake, marketing development manager for Fujifilm Equipment and Systems said:
"The new web-based service is already proving a real hit, with an increasing number of digital camera owners - amateur and professional - using online ordering services via the internet.
"Even though these customers are using their computers, they are recognising that photographic prints are the best way to both store and display their images. With internet purchasing experience and the equipment to access it at their fingertips, these customers are also recognising that the best way to purchase prints is via on-line print ordering services. Great news for labs!
"Focus gave us an excellent opportunity for
us to show labs exactly what's possible with the new equipment and the profit opportunities up for grabs."
