Schools 'Bin to Win' Fujifilm Cameras
Schools and youth groups across the UK have been thinking up recycling schemes in an effort to take first prize in this year’s Bin to Win competition, sponsored by Fujifilm.
More than one hundred entries have been submitted for the competition, which aims to teach children the importance of recycling. Groups have come up with schemes ranging from making clocks from direct mail cds to composting children’s lunch time waste and teachers’ tea bags. The winning entry will win £2,000 to spend on its recycling project and a Fujifilm FinePix S602 to record it with.
Chris Pearce, Fujifilm’s Environmental Manager, commented: “Fujifilm has a core policy of recycling and reducing waste emissions wherever possible. This includes encouraging employees, suppliers and other groups we can reach to recognise the impact their activities have on the environment.
“The Bin to Win competition fits well with this policy as it encourages children and adults alike to think about the different ways in which they can recycle waste. We’ve been really impressed with the innovative schemes that some of the entrants have come up with and are looking forward to presenting the winners with their cameras.” |
