TimeFrame Makes History
Fujifilm’s TimeFrame system has won the prestigious Museum and Heritage ‘New Product of the Year Award’ - as the first image revenue generating package of its kind in the world.
Launched last year, the TimeFrame system has already proved a hit with top tourist attractions and art galleries, generating additional revenue for organisations like the V&A, Birmingham Central Library and the London Eye.
TimeFrame offers visitors the opportunity to use thelatest touch-screen technology to access and order photographic quality prints of their favourite artefacts from an extensive image database. Prints are then processed on site, packaged and ready for collection in a matter of minutes. Each image is pre-paid using a simple barcode ordering process, which is scanned and paid for at the counter before the image is sent to print.
A range of prints can be produced - from postcard size to A3 wide, removing the need for stockpiling postcards or posters - a costly exercise involving storage space, stock rotation and unnecessary wastage.
Designed to be flexible and user friendly, the TimeFrame system also allows new images to be added at any stage, whilst the system functionality combines stylish touch screen kiosk technology with a Fujifilm Pictrography 4500 unit, which can be linked remotely, saving valuable space and allowing the unit to be positioned in prime locations without requiring expensive store refits. This flexible format means that the TimeFrame can be installed in a matter of days, is inexpensive to purchase, and is totally self contained.
On receiving the award, TimeFrame product manager Geoff Hawkes said: “It’s great to be recognised for our achievements by the industry and we believe that TimeFrame will make a major impact in the way museums, galleries and heritage sights interact with visitors, and generate revenue. We look forward to working with more museums and attractions in the future, and take pride in continuing to give pleasure to thousands of visitors every year, who thanks to TimeFrame are able to take a little bit of history home.”
