Fabulous Film
Fujifilm will be launching two new medium-speed colour negative films developed specifically for professional use in the new year.
Fujicolor Pro 160S and Pro 160C feature smoother skin tone rendition, unprecedented neutral grey balance, exceptionally fine grain and wide exposure latitude. Both have been optimised for digital scanning and give excellent performance when used for digitally printed portraiture.
Fujicolor 160S combines smooth, gentle tonality with superbly natural colour reproduction making it ideal for wedding, portrait and fashion photography. Fujicolor Pro 160C offers higher contrast and more vivid colour making it suitable for a wider range of work from portraiture and commercial work to architecture.
To coincide with the launch of the new films, Fujifilm’s high-speed colour negative films will be rebranded to form a complete ‘Fujicolor Pro’ line. NPH 400 will become Fujicolor Pro 400H and NPZ 800 will be renamed Fujicolor Pro 800Z. All four films in the Fujicolor Pro line can be printed under identical conditions despite their differences in speed and contrast. This will simplify adjustment of print density and colour balance making it easier and more efficient for labs to provide photographers with the quality they rightly demand.
The Fujicolor Pro films incorporate Fujifilm’s proprietary 4th Colour Layer Technology - the addition of a fourth cyan-sensitive layer to the typical RGB sensitive layers. This helps simulate human colour perception and reproduces delicate skin and neutral colours as the eye would see them. It also delivers consistent colour balance regardless of the light source - daylight, tungsten, fluorescent, flash or mixed lighting.
Both new films will be available from Spring 2005. Fujicolor Pro 160S and Pro 160C will replace Fujicolor Portrait Film NPS 160 and NPC 160 respectively. For more information, contact Fujifilm’s technical team on 01234 217724. |
